Wax
Poppets can be made out of most anything. Wax, clay, soap, roots, corn husks, metal, fruit.
– Madam Josephine
Some of the earliest poppets were made of wax. This includes one made of Pharaoh Ramses III in ancient Egypt by his enemies.
You can purchase paraffin or beeswax or you can melt down several candles in order to use their wax. Heat the wax until it is soft enough to work with.
Please be careful not to burn yourself while handling hot wax!
You can boost the power of you poppet by blending herbs and small crystals that match your intention into the wax.
Work quickly, since the wax will be tougher to mold as it cools.
Shape the wax into a human figure. Then hollow out a hole where the heart would be and place the taglock in it, such as hair, nail clippings, or bodily fluids. You can also place herbs or crystals here if you didn’t incorporate them into the wax. Then cover the hole with more wax to seal in the items.
If you melt down candles you can select a color that matches your intention. Or you can use wax dyes to color your paraffin or beeswax.
