Clay

Poppets can be made out of most anything. Wax, clay, soap, roots, corn husks, metal, fruit.

If you’re not great at sewing or are short on time, it might be easier to make a poppet out of clay. You can buy the clay, or if you want to keep it as natural as possible, you can gather it from near a river. You can even create a simple salt dough using flour, salt, and water.

You can boost the power of you poppet by blending herbs and small crystals that match your intention into the clay or dough.

Shape the clay into a human figure. Then hollow out a hole where the heart would be and place the taglock in it, such as hair, nail clippings, or bodily fluids. You can also place herbs or crystals here if you didn’t incorporate them into the clay. Then cover the hole with more clay to seal in the items.

If you use colored modeling clay or even play dough, just like with the candles, you should pick a color that matches your intention.
